Create system backups

Windows® allows to create restore points (on Windows® XP/Vista/and above) or system state backups (on Windows® 2000/2003/2008).

Registry First Aid uses Windows® backup tool to create full registry backups and restore.

Windows® 2000/2003/2008

Note: User must have administrator's privileges on the system.

The program will launch the Windows® 2000 Backup utility and create backup of the System State. You can find the Backup utility under the System Tools menu.

Backup file is saved into the default Registry First Aid backup folder.

Windows® XP/Vista/and above

Note: User must have administrator's privileges on the system.

Creation of System Restore Point is available only if the System Restore service is running.

To check if the System Restore service is running please right-click on My Computer icon and select the Properties menu item. Click on the System Restore tab (or System Protection link in Windows 7, 8, 10) and ensure that your system drive (usually C:) has the "Monitoring" ("On") status.

For additional information about the System Restore, click Help and Support on the Start menu. In the Search box, type "system restore", and then press ENTER.
